Customize Section
We have launched a new page, which lists all of the custom mods, styles and language packages available. All the items added there are pulled directly from our forums.
Many of our potential clients have queries on what sort of mods are available for phpFox and if its even possible to modify the package to the point where a new module could be created. This page will help answer many of those questions and we hope help the development community bring in more hits to their threads, which will hopefully turn into a future sales for them.

Ok, seriously there needs to be categories and all the broken, unsupported and abandoned mods needs to be removed. There is nothing worse than clicking thru a bunch of links to find out something is unsupported or broken added there is no categories currently so that makes for even more frustration digging thru unsorted modifications, themes and tutorials.

We are still sorting out the mods. We are currently on language packs and styles and will get to the mods shortly after. At the moment the customize page is simply pulling out the threads from vBulletin and is only listing them in 3 major categories, which are Mods, Styles and Language Packs. Once a potential client purchases a license it is still best to browse the products/service being sold/released direct from the forums as they are a little more organized there. Plus a far better search engine is provided by vB. I will try to add a vB mod that will add some sort of a quick Ajax “Report” link, which will make it easier to spot some of the really old mods that simply do not work or are unsupported. Also the customize page lists mods for all phpFox versions and not just the latest one.
I will see what we can do to split the mods via version and sub-categories on the customize page to make it easier for potential clients to browse.

I hate VB but anyhow, there is already a report post/thread feature enabled in VB forums right now. When people report these threads they need to be moved, closed or deleted. I went thru every topic in the free mod section early this morning and do you know that about over 75% of them are tutorials and not mods? I think we should have a tutorial forum created and move some of them there to clean up the forums a tad. It’s a shame I didn’t get the job as I could have been really helpful in areas like this considering it’s what I do now for IPB.

Do you have some examples of the tuts?

Thanks, will check on them and see what we can do to organize the sections.

As you mentioned that this new section is for the prospective buyers. But the problem is the links point to forum and forum do not let in without a valid license. I get following message -
“In order to use the phpFoX User-User Support forum you must have a valid phpFoX Clients account and one valid phpFoX software license.”
How can a “prospective” buyer will have a valid license !
Can you resolve this please.
On a side note I wanted to discuss with you more on developing templates for PHPFox, how can I contact you.

This is an issue we are still looking into. We had discussed with clients a few months ago and at the time they voted to keep the forums closed from the public, especially areas that have 3rd party mods.
We added a plug-in to hide any code from the public so we will open up another poll explaining this and from there we can hopefully open up these specific sections to the public.
Feel free to contact us in management at:

Thanks!

@Raymond
I opened the ticket on 2nd Dec using above mentioned url.
My Ticket ID: TMY-623300
I have not recd any reply yet. When I tried accessing it using given username and password with the ticket, it says “Invalid Username” or “No permissions” message.
I know this is not the right place to contact you but I do not know any other way since the support itself is locked.
Regards

Hi Raymond
Its been almost 20 days since I opened the ticket, but still no response from your team !
I had asked about cooperation in template design work(mentioned in my ticket). Its purely a commercial question, why is it taking so long to respond?
Ummm… none of the links are valid on the new page.

Ah they are new mods that are not approved yet is why. Sorry.

@Yogi
Cases like this take time as it requires a manager to make a final decision. We need to look over a lot of partnership type requests daily and each one needs time to investigate the background of the other party before any sort of cooperation can be established.
I have asked Anna to check on your ticket now and she should get back to you shortly.

@Yogi
Do you currently have a new ticket open? The case with the ticket ID#TMY-623300 cannot be found.

Are you serious? The ticket does not exist !!!
I hope your support system does work.
I shall have to check the content of the ticket once again, as the ticket system did not sent any copy at the time of creation. But I still can’t believe that a support ticket is deleted in ur db !

Tickets via the support suite are not deleted and if they have for some reason we have daily backups that are sent off server so if your ticket did exist it can be found there.
However, what usually happens is our staff merges tickets when there is duplicates or more tickets open that are related to the same case. Once a ticket is merged Kayako is unable to search the old ticket ID# since the new one takes over.
If you log into our Support Suite you should find all the tickets you have connected with that account and we can then check up on which case was merged.
If you are unable to find your ticket open a new ticket with the email last used and link to this post and I can look over your case.
Thanks!

Hey Natio… Can you add theme and international language support to the ReCaptcha Plugin of yours? I have a client with a spanish site and there is lot of difficulty for readers of the native language and others to pass the check when it’s not in their native tongue. Thanks.
PS. I have compiled several language translations to contribute to this for the recaptcha translations(about 43 language translations in proper format too:) ).

Sure, that is a great idea.
It might be hard for me to get around to it at the moment. Once the dev release for v2 is out next month I can look into updating this mod.

@Yogi
No problem.
Thanks for your comment and have a Happy New Year!

Well can you direct me on this bit? Apparently I should be able to add this somewhere for a simple version based on the article link below:
var RecaptchaOptions = {
theme : ‘white’,
lang : ‘es’,
tabindex : 2
};
Look & Feel Customization
You can optionally customize the look of the reCAPTCHA widget with some JavaScript settings. To use these settings, insert a tag that defines a dictionary called RecaptchaOptions. The following dictionary fields can be set:

Added a reply here regarding the reCaptcha plug-in:
http://forums.phpfox.com/showpost.php?p=152855&postcount=22
Its a little easier to use BBCode there. Let me know if you run into any problems or which method was easier.
