Hello!!
I have a question:
Does the V2 upgrade keep the language packages installed on v1.6.21? I mean, if I have German installed in my v1.6.21 site, when I upgrade to RC5 or RC6, will I be able to use the site in German?
Thank you!

Correct, the language phrases have changed in v2 so the same language packages from 1.6 will not work in v2

There seem to be something wrong with the look of the homepage. I don’t think there should be a banner on the top and a second banner 250 on the right. The main home page should have a sky scraper ad on the right side like facebook where we can offer advertising.
And the homepage should have freinds and “people you may know”
and Music Videos slide belt on the home page. We want to attract people to join so this need to look very nice.
I am looking at the home page of demo why is there two banners size 250 by 250 on the right side. No no no No. I hope you can fix this also I let you decide

Exactly like mr Khan said, this is a demo.
From the AdminCP you can control which ads show where, if you dont use a block for ads no ads will show up there, but if we dont put the two ads people will not know that this is possible right?

EMERGENCY
YOU MUST HAVE A Inbox and Sendbox Cleaner
any old messages over 3 months or 2 months that are store in the members mail should be deleted automaticall or clean on the admin side to revent space buildup. The cleaner the mysql database the nicer and faster the system will run exspecially when the membership increases to over 5000 members and up. Please This is a must the 6.2.1 did not have this feature
Add this

Can you please add on the signup this is important to add a match later on

It will be nice to have some kind of user document or customization document, the new version is more complicated than version 1.16.21. Although there is a lot we can customize the site, but the main problem is to know how.
Thanks.

Yes, i do agree, the new V2 is great, we can do so much on it and I love it, but the know how is the hardest, like I don’t know how to add in Google analytics or API’s or change the colour of my site, the documentation doesn’t show that and it sucks.
But two things that would be great in the new release is to have Google maps standard and GPS co-ordinates in the events mod.
- I know that we can add the GPS co-ordinates in our selves but I don’t know how to.

Hi,
I have some issues after I updated from phpfox v1.16.21 to phpfox v2 RC5. I was trying to add a new registration step and was told that system will prompt the step for me to follow like wizard. It did not happen after I typed in the step name and click ADD, nothing happened …The phpfox support told me that it is not support for this version. Do you know what issue will be for this problem? Will I get support after Nov, 4 Stable version release?

I notice some problem on the width on the blocks. I will use sky scraper on some pages which is 160 on width. All the other blocks are two wide making the pages look unprofessional. Can you fix this problem.
Also is it posible to have the block that say ” WHO VISIT YOUR PAGE” CHange it to ” People You May Know “

You can create and edit the templates from the admin panel. Same with the words and phrases you can change that from the Phrases manager in the Admin Panel
[Reply]
There is already a feature completed for People You May Know, which is called Mutual Friends.

Hello to everyone involved in making phpfox v2. When I originally purchased the software last year back when 1.16.18 was the latest version, I though the software then was a leader in socialk networking scripts. But having now seen whats happening with V@ I can’t wait for the stable release.
Awesome work to everyone and it is great to see the phpfox team listening to their clients and offering us truley the best solution.
Like all software upgrades there wilkl be some teething issues and of course that is to be expected. But it is truley awesome to see that phpfox have taken the time and effort to make the RC releases and let us the c;ients test and report on it’s issues. In the long run this will reduce those teething issues and shows how dedicated to their clients Phpfox are.
Keep up the awesome work team. I am glad to be part of this awesome community. You have made it extremely easy for me to be able to offedr to my clients the best possible social networking experience and i look forward to extending this in the future with V2!

That depends on your time zone
We usually release around 5pm GMT (based on previous releases), however today it should be coming out a little early if all goes well; which thus far it is.
