phpFox 2.0.0 Released
We are pleased to announce that phpFox 2.0.0 has been released. We first want to thank our community for their time, patience and feedback over the course of our development. They have helped us improve and mold the product to bring us to Stable and pave the way for future versions.
What’s New?
There is a long list of features that v2 has introduced and our new website will be tailored to display all these new changes in an organized manner, however if you haven’t been around for the past Alpha/Beta/RC releases feel free to follow up on each release to get a true understanding of what phpFox 2 has accomplished.

How did we get to stable?
After 12 Release Candidate that included months of testing and working with our community to resolve all problems that would interfere with normal site operations.
Our last RC fixed the following:
- Album/Image Privacy
- Embed video does not work with new page
- RSS feeds not displaying in correct order
- url are broken
- Parsing “less than” in profile blocks

Any remaining issues that are open are mainly cosmetic or requires a change in our default design and if a fix is required will be provided in one of the upcoming maintenance releases.
What’s Next?
With the release of 2.0.0 we expect maintenance releases to follow and cannot confirm release dates as it really depends on if an issue arises that merits a quick release.
Our next major version release will be 2.1 and development for this version will start on the 28th of this month. We don’t have a confirmed release date for this version but more information will be posted after the holidays.
We will also be updating our main website after the holidays and our new site will have version 2 related information, unfortunately we cannot release it today with the release of v2 as we need to run some more tests before our new site goes life. I am pleased to say that it will be powered by v2.
Once we have updated our website we will be updating our clients area, support suite and forums. All of these areas will be powered by v2 as well.
v1.6.21 End of Life
Our previous stable release v1.6.21 will continue to receive support until the 24th of March 2010 and will have functionality and security updates until June 23rd 2010. After June 23rd 2010 v1.6.21 will have reached its End of Life.
Even with the end of life of v1.6.21 our community is always open to lend a helping hand.

what does it means ?
this version will not working after the giving date , i didn’t like the 2.0.0 version , its mods are not avalaible yet and also its just like facebook

No, it simply means we cannot continue officially supporting it after that date as our resources need to focus on future versions. v1.6.21 will still work and there will be many clients still using that version so if help is needed the community for v1.6.21 will still be there. We still have many clients using v1.1 and continue to have a forum open for this version as well.

You will be able to download 1.6.21 in the future as well. We still even include v1.1 so even after those dates mentioned arrive both those versions will still be available.

Shortly after the holidays, if not sooner. We are working hard on the new website and want it to be as userfriendly as possible. It will also be powered by phpFox2! =)
As for the release date, we have yet set one for v2.1. We will get back to you on this with an update.
